Telegram Suggested Posts in 2026: Buying a Post Without Middlemen#

For years, buying a post in someone else's Telegram channel meant a chat with the admin, a prepayment on trust or an exchange that took its cut, and a screenshot as proof. Since July 2025 Telegram has a built-in alternative: Suggested Posts. You write the post, attach a price in Stars or Gram, and Telegram holds the money until the post has been live for a day.

More than a year in, the feature is still little known outside crypto circles. Here is how it works, what it costs and when it makes sense.

How it works in one paragraph#

A user opens a channel's direct messages and taps the "suggest post" icon in the message bar. They write the post, set a price in Telegram Stars or Gram (formerly Toncoin) or leave it unpaid, and optionally pick a publication time. The admin can accept, decline with a comment, or send back edits to the text, media, price or time. Once both sides agree, the money is charged; the channel receives it after the post has stayed up for 24 hours. If the post is deleted earlier, Telegram returns the full amount automatically (Telegram blog, Telegram API).

The mechanism only exists in channels that have direct messages switched on (Channel Settings → Direct Messages, available since June 2025 — Telegram blog).

Telegram's terms add two practical details for the channel: Gram rewards can be withdrawn 2 days after they accrue, Stars after 21 days (ToS). Stars withdraw at $0.013 each, so the 100,000-Star cap means at most about $1,100 for the channel after commission, while a 10,000-Gram offer is worth whatever Gram trades at that day.

Where Fragment fits in: "For Sponsors"#

Fragment's ads page has three blocks: For Advertisers, For Content Creators and For Sponsors, which reads: "Use Grams to sponsor posts on Telegram by making offers to public channel admins" (fragment.com/ads). It is not a marketplace of offers — the offers themselves are made inside the Telegram app. What Fragment provides is the top-up: you add Gram to a Telegram account, your own or "your friends and colleagues'", from a TON wallet (fragment.com/ads/topup). The Telegram client links to the same page when your Gram balance is too low to make an offer (API config).

The top-up route is the same as for the self-serve ad cabinet: a TON wallet such as Tonkeeper or MyTonWallet, GRAM bought on an exchange, then "Connect TON" on Fragment.

For advertisers: when Suggested Posts beat the alternatives#

Good fit:

• You know exactly which channels you want and their admins have DMs on.
• You want a native post, not a "Sponsored" label under the feed.
• You want protection against the classic risk of paying and never seeing the post — escrow handles that.
• You are testing small channels where exchanges have no inventory.

Poor fit:

• You need reach across many channels at once — that is what Telegram Ads is for.
• You need to edit the post after publication: a paid post cannot be edited.
• You need Russian ad marking and closing documents: Suggested Posts have no built-in erid or contract flow.
• The channel has DMs off — then the feature simply is not available.

Practical tips:

1. Check the channel's DM price first: channels can charge Stars for each direct message, and that is separate from the post price.
2. Put the publication window in the offer. "Any time within 30 days" is the default when no date is set.
3. Keep the text final before sending. After payment, edits are impossible; before payment, every change goes back to the other side for approval.
4. Price in Gram for larger deals. Stars top out at 100,000 per post.

For channel admins: why switch it on#

• No chasing payments. The money is held by Telegram and arrives 24 hours after publication.
• Counter-offers. You can edit the advertiser's draft or raise the price instead of saying no.
• A public entry point. Advertisers who find your channel in search can make an offer without looking for a contact.
• Automation. Since Bot API 9.2 (August 2025), bots that administer a channel can approve or decline suggested posts and receive payment events (Bot API changelog).

The trade-off is Telegram's 15% commission compared with a direct deal, and a post that has to stay up at least a day.

Why so few people use it#

Industry write-ups point to the same reasons: many channels have not switched on direct messages, a paid post cannot be edited, and awareness is low (Trafficcardinal). Telegram has not announced changes to the mechanics since launch; in 2026 the apps simply started calling the crypto option Gram instead of TON.

Can a channel suggest a paid post to me instead? Yes. The API allows a channel to propose a post to a user and request payment for it (Telegram API).

What happens if the admin deletes my post after 10 hours? You get the full amount back automatically.

Can I pay by card? Indirectly: Stars can be bought in the app, and Fragment sells Stars for stablecoins. The offer itself is always in Stars or Gram.

Is there an official list of channels that accept Suggested Posts? No. A channel accepts them if it has direct messages switched on.
